The piano sound are fine. The string resonance is very low and the pedal is very quiet. An acoustic piano is very different from that point of view. But, in my opinion as a beginner, it is not necessarily a bad thing: it makes the pedal more forgiving. I think the FP10 is one of the best piano of its price range and an ok piano for beginners.
